Daily Update (4/17/25) - Almost done with controllers!


Daily Update - April 17th, 2025

Hi all! Today was a bit of a longer day since I'm taking tomorrow off, but I made a lot of progress on the final bits of supporting gameplay with a controller! I wrapped up the rewards screen, event support, navigating to the various decorations in the market day scene (which was a pretty involved affair, coding wise), and the redecoration screen. I'll be adding some more support for various controller button presses next week (before I call this feature "done"), and display for UI icons indicating which button does what, but the core of the necessary work for controllers (and now keyboards!) is done! This'll open the game up to a bunch of folks that only play games with controllers, or even just keyboards, so that's pretty exciting. I'm sure it's still fairly janky compared to using a mouse, but hey! Progress! You can now play the whole game with a controller! Here's the changelog:
