Daily Update (7/07/25) - New Run Starting Bonuses


Daily Update - July 7th 2025

Hi all! Today I decided to make a fairly impactful gameplay change: Starting Bonuses! Now, when you start a new run, you'll be able to pick between one of 3 starting bonuses to help you have a bit more agency over the early game. These can range from random new cards, to extra resources. I'm also planning on some options that will be tradeoffs that come with more power at the cost of some downsides, but that'll have to wait till tomorrow. This took a bit of refactoring of the day off system, since I'm just using that system to handle granting these boons, so there was also a good amount of healthy code maintenance today too. Here's the changelog!

  • Gameplay: Starting a new run now presents the player with a selection of helpful boons to pick from as a starting bonus
  • Bugfix: Fixed a few instances of the counter for your Daily Inventory not updating after some event effects
  • Bugfix: Fixed some incorrect starting decorations for the Baker and Potion Dealer shopkeepers
