Daily Update (2/27/25) - Major Patch! (0.8.0)
Daily Update - Feb 26th, 2025
Hi friends! Today's a nice little milestone release! I got the last of my 150 planned decorations implemented this morning, so I had some time to do some playtesting and a major bug cleanup session plus a bit more UI work and game design stuff. There's a lot to see in the changelog, but among the big changes are that the Baker and Potion Dealer are now at least not totally broken. I've given them both some more thematic starter decorations, access to all events, decorations, and tactics, and don't demand that you discard down to 0 cards each turn, so that's a big improvement. Also, you no longer start with a bunch of confusing no-effect starter decorations. Also also, the character select screen got a little visual refresh, so it should be a tad prettier and more informative. As always, here's the full changelog:

- Gameplay: Gave the Baker and Potion Dealer some new starting decks, starting decorations, and up-to-date lists of available tactics and decorations so they're at least playable, if not well balanced
- Gameplay: Nerfed Flower Pot sales desk decoration. Now pulls from all items instead of a curated list of expensive items.
- UI: Gave the character select screen a little visual refresh, and display for each character's starting decoration
- UI: Added a bunch more UI popups for cards when they have some effect applied to them, so you can tell what's actually happening
- QoL: Added fallback recipe for "Adventuring Kit" + "Sharp Cheese" - UI/Gameplay: You no longer start each run with a bunch of no-effect placeholder decorations.
- Bugfix: Fixed missing sfx when selling some more recently implemented combined items
- Bugfix: Fixed card picker scene's show/hide options button starting on the show options state
- Bugfix: Fixed typo in name of Artisan's Workbench
- Bugfix: Fixed some instances of creating an Omni-Potion creating Trash instead
- Bugfix: Fixed a crash when purchasing the Mimic Merch tactic
- Bugfix: Fixed crash when activating the Little Library decoration
- Bugfix: Added missing recipe when combining "Sword and Board + "Cookpot Shield"
- Bugfix: Fixed multiple decorations with counter overwriting each other's displayed counter value, making them all seem like they're counting the same thing
- Bugfix: Fixed save and quit button getting stuck in a disabled state
- Bugfix: Fixed abandoning a run on the calendar getting stuck on the calendar
- Bugfix: Fixed winning a run getting stuck on the calendar
- Bugfix: Fixed repayment date UI on the calendar going missing if loading a game past the 6th of the month
- Bugfix: Fixed Loss Leader tactic not actually drawing any cards after reducing the value of an item in your hand
- Bugfix: Fixed Alchemist's Exhibit decoration triggering at end of turn instead of end of day
- Bugfix: Fixed decoration and tactics purchase stats in profile stats not incrementing as intended
- Bugfix: Fixed effects that add aspects to items being able to add aspects that they already have.
- Misc: Added some missing text in the in-game changelog
