Daily Update (2/3/25) - new minor version!


Daily Update - Feb 3rd, 2025

Hey, it's a brand new month! Accordingly, I wrapped up the customer revamp today (or at least, a cursory 1st pass, pending more playtesting). All of the potential customers should now have some unique mechanics to make interacting with them somewhat unique (or at least more interesting than just being a countdown with some stats attached, more or less). I think I was more or less successful in that regard, so I think we're good for another minor version number. There was also a little more bugfixing and general maintenance today, as a result of some personal playtesting too. I had some real genuine fun on the new build, and was able to win a run with healthy margin for error too! I think a quick thing I may add soon is some kind of meta-progression or high score system so you can feel cool for winning runs and stuff. Anyway, that's enough rambling. Welcome to 0.6.0!   • Gameplay: Reduced Patience cost of Side Salad tactic to match other similar tactics (1 -> 0)
  • Gameplay: Sharp Cheese combo item value buffed ($35 -> $40)
  • Gameplay: Frantic Fabrication now Exhausts itself
  • Gameplay: Nerfed Turtle barter price reduction amount (-$40 -> -$25) (Note, the intent still says $40, will fix tomorrow!)
  • Gameplay: Turtle will now like item types they previously disliked if sold an item that has some disliked item types
  • Gameplay: Quartermaster will now increase their preference for weapons if sold a weapon
  • Gameplay: Buffed Quartermaster starting patience (2 -> 3)
  • Gameplay: Changed Quartermaster item for sale (Was Adventuring Kit, now Sword and Board)
  • Gameplay: Wandering Knight no longer randomly loses patience
  • Gameplay: Wandering Knight starting Patience buffed (2 -> 3)
  • Gameplay: Wandering Knight now leaves on their turn if the player has no Potions in hand
  • Gameplay: Enchanter customer is now Forgetful - Does not have any preferences to start, but seeing an item combination will remind them they like Armor or Potions on their next turn
  • UI: Added the shop background to the Credits and Character Selector page, so they're not just grey background (temporary)
  • UI: Added some text indicating that the non Shopkeeper characters are not yet well implemented to the character selection screen
  • Art: Added card art for the Mouthwatering Deal tactic
  • Art: Added card art for the Trash to Treasure tactic
  • Bugfix: Fixed customer preference UI going missing forever if their preference level for an item type ever became exactly neutral
  • Bugfix: Resolved some potential crashes when choosing a card from your Inventory for various card effects
