Daily Update - Jan 16th, 2025

Hey friends! Had a fairly productive (if mostly internal to the codebase) day today. Today, I spent a lot of time working on the next big game system: Events!

These will occur once a week, somewhat randomly. This should let us go back up to 5 days a week without affecting the cadence of the month too much:


This isn't available to players yet, since there's only maybe 0.75 events implemented so far, but once I've got at least 4 events, I'll make this available in public releases, and update the minor version accordingly. As part of all this work, I refactored the UI of the day planner a bit, which was sorely needed at this point, so you'll at least see a minor improvement there in terms of wording and UI. Here's the changelog!

Changelog (v0.4.5)

  • Gameplay: Buffed Frantic Fabrication tactic to prefer Items over Tactics if possible (Will still pick a tactic if there are less than 2 items after the draw)
  • Art: Added card art for the Recycle tactic
  • UI: Reworded and refactored the day planner scene that appears when starting a day
  • Bugfix: Fixed incorrect UI showing the day as completed if loading a game from the very first day
  • Internal: Set up a lot of internals for handling events on the calendar, and in the day planner scene. Began implementation of the first event
