Daily Update - Dec 5th, 2024

It's getting cold out there! Not a huge day in terms of productivity for me today, but I've managed to get a few nice QoL changes in today, such as an item preview when hovering over the confirm button, and some more status displays. I've been enjoying the abbreviated weeks so far, but I'm still not sure exactly how to balance the game as it goes on. I think it may be time to start thinking about other things the player can do on days than open the shop (Events, Fishing?, etc). Oh well, maybe something for me to keep brainstorming on! Here's the changelog for the day:

  • New Content: Added a new uncommon Lighting decoration: Darkflame Torch (Rummages draw an extra card, but you can't preview combinations)
  • Art: Added art for Sustaining Potion and Bread items (Thanks Jenna!)
  • UI: Completed implementation of Free Combines status UI (and general code framework for statuses). Status UI Icons should now show the stacks of the status correctly
  • UI: Added status display for free rummages
  • UI: Added area to display customer status effects, and implemented a status display for if you have a free sale to a customer
  • UI: Added a card combination preview view when hovering over the combine button while it is enabled to take the guesswork and memory management away from combining cards
  • Bugfix: Fixed free rummage and combination status increasing instead of decreasing when they should decrease their number of stacks
  • Internal: Added the ability to delay the resolution of a card effect until after a card is selected
