Daily Update (7/22/25) - Event day savegames
Daily Update - July 22nd, 2025
Hi all! Today I kinda went down a fun little savegame rabbithole! I decided that when you save and quit during an event, it shouldn't kick you back to the calendar, requiring you to re-enter the event day again. This caused a little cascade of refactoring and tweaking how savegames work with respect to event days, so now you can save and quit (or just close the game) during an event day, and you should be able to resume at the beginning of the event! This was a little extra tricky due to how I implemented the run starting bonus event, but I think it should be fairly stable now regardless. Kinda turned what I thought would be a half-hour tweak into a day-long task, but hey, that's programming for ya.
Additionally, today's changelog has a bunch of new art for various tactics and mottos and customer intents too, so that's always nice to see. Here's the changelog for the day:

- Art: Added art for the Predatory Tactics, Creative Potionmaking, Cook the Books, Haggle, and Storewide Sale tactic/mottos
- Savegames: Saving and Quitting during an event will now remember the event and take you right to it when you resume your run, instead of booting you back to the calendar to need to click the next day (this also fixes missing the run start event if you save and quit on the first event)
- Savegames: Entering an Event day now autosaves your run.
- Customer AI: Made the Peasant slightly hungrier on average
- UI: Added a fade in/out scene transition when going to a new day on the calendar
- UI: Replaced the placeholder lock icon on the Character Selector with the finalized key icon
- UI: Updated a number of placeholder "wildcard" Customer Intent icons to a standardized "wildcard" icon to indicate they're going to do something worth reading about (the icon is a 4 pointed star)
- UI: Updated a few Customer Littering intent icons to the Discard pile icon, to indicate that you're going to be discarding some cards. Heads up!
- UI: Added a finalized trophy icon for completed quests
- Text: Updated the text for character unlocks to refer to Quests instead of Achievements
- Bugfix: Fixed the Quest Complete popup appearing under the Next Turn UI during Market Days
- Bugfix: Fixed some strange calendar interactions that could happen if you restarted a run via the R key
- Bugfix: Fixed saving and quitting after making an event choice saving your choice, allowing you to re-do events an arbitrary number of times. Savegames now snapshot the start of an event, and return you to the start of the event with your previous stats to prevent infinite resources.
